Who do I have to contact?

The naturalisation authorities are the districts (Landratsämter, district administration offices) and the county boroughs. Contact the naturalisation authority of the district or borough in whose area you live.

• If you live in the town of Coburg, then the Coburg town administration is responsible for the naturalisation.
• If you live in a community belonging to the district of Coburg, then the Landratsamt Coburg, the district administration office, is the responsible naturalisation authority.

Applications / forms

A written application must be submitted for naturalisation. Persons over the age of 16 can submit the naturalisation application themselves. For persons under 16, their legal representatives – usually the parents – have to submit the application. Before you submit the application, please contact your naturalisation authority for advice. This may save time and unnecessary queries.
